Molly was titled at the Newcastle and Hunter Region German Shepherd Dog Clubs August trial with a score of 95/100 and 1/3. Three trials three high passes.
Molly followed this up with three trials and three passes in Novice for her CD title. Two titles in 6 months. Well done to Molly, Doris, John and Molly's support dog "Ralph" CCD.
Molly had her first agility/jumping trial with a clear run and well under time. She is proving to be an all round dog, a credit to her owners and a good ambassador for the breed.
Takimbre Venus Rising (Maya)
Dam: Multi EX *Swartzlic Echo BS.CL1 'A''Z'
Below is a temperament evaluation done on "Maya" a litter sister of Bloss, by Steve Courtney from K9 Force. Steve is Nationally Accredited Dog Obedience Trainer, Law Enforcement Dog Trainer and Canine Behaviour Specialist. Maya was taken to Steve as Rob and Kate felt she was not performing to her true ability at obedience training.
This has been reproduced in part with the knowledge and approval of Rob and Kate her owners and Steve Courtney.

Owner/handler observations
Maya was described as not that motivated by food during times of distraction, a girl with an up temperament who has lots of energy. She had difficulties in paying attention during group training.
Evaluation results
I observed Maya over an hour in our consult room, in this time she was fidgety, unsettled & obviously having difficulty coming to rest. She had a good unfearful bond with both Rob & Kate though she did lack respect & discipline.
Throughout the hour I questioned Kate & Rob to get an all over understanding of the difficulties & challenges they were having with Maya both at training & at home.
We progressed to the training field in which we spent another hour observing her reactions to various stimuli.
Maya displayed no signs of any nervous, nervy or weak nerved behaviours.
Maya showed a very low threshold to prey drive stimulation, i was able to trigger prey drive & her remain in prey drive for me at a close proximity to both owners and myself for an extended period of time. She was able to swap between two different prey item styles, tug toy & ball on a string with ease.
She was able to remain in prey drive & keep focus on prey items I used through levels of distraction ranging from low to high through several variable types of distraction, including audio distraction, visual distraction & scent distraction.
Maya's primary drive is prey drive.
Maya at no time displayed any undesirable trait of avoidance or dominance & none are reported by the owners.
She possessed a good level of fitness & her structure was also very good.
I felt her previous training was not providing any type of prey drive stimulation & this was driving Maya not to be able to come to rest & provoking an unrestful animal. This is very common for this type of dog, easily cured by orientating the training so that it will provide prey drive satisfaction.
Extra information (if any)
I had the pleasure of seeing Maya attend one of my Dog & Handler Training workshops, after a few weeks of training in my training in drive program; Maya was able to settle fast in the workshop that was spanned over the whole day. I used Maya as the demonstration dog for training in prey drive, even with the distraction of many dogs now, she trained perfectly. There was no lunging at dogs & she remained in perfect control all day.
Conclusion
Maya is a very capable animal, that possess a working level of prey drive coupled with the highly desirable nerves required for many styles of Canine work & higher end of the sporting dog field (e.g: Shutzhund & IPO).
She possesses a level head which is not overdriven but stably intelligent & sure.
Her abilities are limitless in the working dog or sport fields. (emphasis added)
Recommendations
Maya will remain a beautifully temperamented animal throughout her life given the correct style of training (training in prey drive) & a firm set of rules & boundaries that communicate to her the acceptable & not acceptable.
I feel her capable of any goal set to her, Maya is a stunning animal. (emphasis added)
